Billionaire loses $870k in hot wallet hack

Dear Reader,

Tough being a billionaire with crypt these days…

Blockchain "sleuth" Wazz spotted a classic hot wallet hack on Friday.
Looks like one of Mark Cuban's (yes… the billionaire Shark Tanker himself) wallets was drained of nearly $900k.

The crime happened around 8 pm UTC.

In a quick 10-minute window.

Lucky for him that's all they took.

Cuban hadn't touched the wallet in 160 days.

He quickly transferred the remaining assets — $2 million USDC — to Coinbase Custody.

Word on the street is that Cuban may have signed a "malicious transaction."

Or that his private key was compromised.

(Funds were directly taken out of the wallet soooo….)

Either way, Cuban's out close to a million in crypto.

Unlikely he'll see any of it back, too.

Security is now a major issue in the crypto space.

Cointelegraph Markets Pro members have nothing to worry about.

The most advanced crypto trading platform is fully-secure.

None of their personal information is out in the open.

Plus, they're shown how to keep their crypto under lock and key.

Regards,

Max K.
