AI based crypto scam tracker unleashed

Dear Reader,

Will crypto scams ever stop?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Researchers from San Diego State University may have a solution.

They developed an AI system to spot and track down…

Free crypto giveaway scams on X (formerly Twitter).

The automated AI system is called GiveawayScamHunter.
So far, it found more than 95k scam lists.

Created over the past year.

From more than 87k accounts on X.

The AI tool went even further…

Extracting 327 websites and 121 wallet addresses tied to the scams.

The way it works is pretty ingenious.

Scientists figured out that Twitter Lists are the perfect point of attack.

That's where scammers launch their bogus crypto giveaway.

Because the lists feature is permissionless.

Making it an easy networking tool to target and exploit.

The scientists then trained the AI on data from other giveaway scams.

If you don't want to get scammed when searching for legitimate crypto investments…

We urge you to test out the Cointelegraph Markets Pro dashboard.
